A launch checklist for your website, content and enquiry flow

Launch day is easier when the final checks are written down. A working homepage is only one part of the site: service links, metadata, language versions, contact details and enquiry behaviour also need review. A useful checklist focuses on what visitors will actually see and do.

Review the approved content

Check the final headings, descriptions, service scope and contact information. Remove draft claims, placeholder links and images that belong to the wrong section. Confirm that testimonials are genuine and approved for publication. If translations are included, review those versions separately rather than assuming the English checks cover every page.

Walk through the important paths

Open the site from the homepage and follow the menu to each main service. Try the primary contact route and check validation errors. For a WhatsApp form, verify the prepared text and the destination number without mistaking a draft for a delivered message. Keep an alternative contact method visible.

Check multiple screen sizes

Review the headline order, mobile navigation, image crops and card spacing. Look for text that overlaps or forces sideways scrolling. Inspect interactive elements with a keyboard and reduced motion. Record the browser and sizes used, and note any physical devices you could not access so the remaining checks are clear.

Confirm indexing details

Use the intended public domain in canonical links and the sitemap. Make sure useful pages can be reached through normal links and that production pages are not accidentally marked noindex. Keep metadata accurate rather than overloaded with keywords. Search visibility still depends on indexing and other factors beyond simply uploading the files.

Keep the release reversible

Save a backup of the previous version and the new complete package. Know which files must be uploaded and which server files should remain untouched. Clear relevant caches, then inspect the live domain if access is available. Keep a short record of the release so a later issue can be traced to a specific version.

A quick checklist

  • Approve content and real contact details.
  • Test journeys, layouts and fallbacks.
  • Back up, deploy and review the live site.
